I. Richard Greentree, Ph.D. , BCC

Rick has extensive experience as a manager, psychologist, educator, and management consultant.  This broad background enables Rick to value the critical importance of the bottom line and the impact of organizational culture, team dynamics, and leadership practices on performance. 
 
Rick has over 30 years’ experience coaching leaders, strengthening teams, and guiding organizations through change.  Specific areas of expertise include leadership assessment and development; management and executive coaching; strengthening newly formed and long-standing work teams; guiding leaders, teams, and organizations through transition. 
 
A self-employed consultant since 2013, Rick has helped organizations ranging from locally-owned businesses to global corporations.  A sampling of organizations served include Nestlé, Stanley Black & Decker, the World Bank, Virginia Department of Transportation, Bank of Montreal, Harvard University, Ford Motor Company, Dominion Energy, CapitalOne, Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group, and Homeland Security agencies.  Rick is also an adjunct leadership coach with the Center for C
reative Leadership, a globally recognized, top-five provider of executive education.
 
Prior to founding Greentree Consulting Ltd., Rick served as Administrator of Executive Development for a global manufacturing company, Director of Management Development for a national retailer, Director of Strategic Management Services for a regional accounting and consulting firm, and internal management consultant for a Fortune 200 energy company.  His responsibilities in those roles included assessing and coaching high-potentials and senior leaders; directing human resources; facilitating annual business planning meetings; directing a staffing subsidiary; administering senior leader assessment centers. 
 
Throughout his career, Rick has held numerous leadership positions.  A past president of the Richmond, Virginia chapter of the American Society for Training & Development (since renamed Association for Talent Development), Rick has served on national and international ASTD committees.  He also co-chaired an international conference of the Society of Consulting Psychology of the American Psychological Association.  Rick has served on several community boards, instructed Change Leadership in the MBA program of the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business, and taught Performance Management for American University.  He received his M.A. and Ph.D. from George Peabody College (now Peabody College of Vanderbilt University).   
 
Rick lives in Richmond, Virginia where he enjoys travel, history, college basketball, and the

out-of-doors.

John H. Lingle, Ph.D. 
Principal Consultant 
Greentree Consulting Ltd. 

 
John draws on decades of experience with organizational change management, leadership and strategy development, performance measurement systems, business analytics and teaching. He uses this diversity of experience to help organizations identify, define, track and successfully execute critical strategies. John has worked with numerous national and international organizations including Amoco, Chubb insurance, CoreStates Bank, GlaxoSmithKline, Harvard University, Hewlett-Packard, UPS, Williams Energy and Volunteers of America among others.

John began his career as a foreign service officer working with the Peace Corps, directing Peace Corps’ in-country volunteer training in Venezuela. Later, he served as Vice president at two leading survey research firms (Sirota & Alper and Opinion Research Corporation) and as Principal Consultant with the Metrus Group, a national talent management consulting firm. 

​

John has a doctorate in social psychology and quantitative methods.  He served as a faculty member at Rutgers University for seven years and has published multiple articles on performance measurement and decision making.  Additionally, John co-authored a book on organizational performance measurement that became one of Amazon.com’s top-selling business books. 

​

John resides in Davidson, North Carolina.  When not assisting clients, he enjoys playing golf and pursuing his interests in machine learning and predictive analytics.
